What is Your “WHY”?
Why Do You Wake Up in the Morning?
I am writing this short article during our NY “pause” in the midst of the Covid pandemic.
So many people started had life change dramatically around the 16th of March, 2020, which seems like forever ago. A lot of us had our “normal” lives just stop.
Over these past 55 days, we have had to make major adjustments in our lives, things we usually would not have dealt with 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Some people have had to adjust lives to accommodate illness and loss, full-time caring for family members and children, financial hardships, stress, social isolation and more.
One thing that we may also have had to deal with is our sense of identity. As we grow up, we learn in life that what we “are” is “who” we are. Even with those who were able to work remotely, our sense of self may have come into question over these past weeks.
Today, take a moment to stop and sit quietly – something that probably has been hard with all that has been tipsy-turvy in our recent lives.
Ask yourself why do you wake up in the morning?
As our life pause starts ending and things begin re-opening, choose wisely the things you bring back into your life experience.
Evaluate the things that are important, the things that make you feel fulfilled. Maybe it is time to change the job you may have felt trapped in, or to pursue the education you always wanted, or the time to travel.
Whatever it is, make sure it means something instead of just existing and surviving in the “daily grind”.
Hard as it has been, financially difficult as it may be, it is time to change your life for the better.
I believe, if we take the time, we can create a life experience that surrounds life ENJOYMENT. To wake up in the morning and be excited for our day to unfold. To experience passion of life and to really live.
It is time to enjoy our life.
It is time to cherish our moments.
It is time to make every moment of our day feel like we are at play.
It is up to us to make it happen.
